Celeb Sighting!!!

Hello Canada,

Another post coming to you from Beaches Turks and Caicos Resort Villages and Spa! The other day I had the pleasure of running into Daniel Alfredson. For those of you who are not familiar with this name he is one of the best hockey players in the NHL and Captain of The Ottawa Senators Hockey Team. This was a real pleasure for me as I was born and raised in Ottawa and I am a true Sens fan, needless to say I was very excited to meet him. Daniel Alfredson and his family really enjoyed their stay; he told me that the two weeks they spent here went by too quickly and they did not want to leave.  He also mentioned that he is definitely going to come back as he was thoroughly impressed with the resort and the service he received; he had a suite with butler service and we all know what a benefit that is.

By the way...Have any of you had the pleasure of experiencing "Our" BUTLER SERVICE? Have you sold a butler suite to your clients? If you have, please let me know your or your clients experience. Our BUTLERS are trained in accordance to the exacting standards by the Guild of Professional English Butlers, which provides butlers to nobility and celebrities worldwide. When it comes to our butler service our motto is "Maximum Service, Minimum Intrusion".

The next time you are working on a Sandals or Beaches booking remind your clients about the personal butler service, paint the picture of the experience and tell your clients that actual celebrities (we have a long list of names from Jessica Simpson, Tori Spelling and N’SYNC just to name a few) stay at our properties; this will confirm to them that they are going to a true LUXURY RESORT. Remember celebrities can afford to go anywhere in the world and they choose to vacation at our resorts, to me that speaks volumes and it is a sure way to close a sale!

Happy Selling!!!

Gina

Caroline Lemire's Gravatar Congrats to Jill! I haven't had the opportunity to have my own buttler service on the FAM tour, but did get a peek through a friend and I must say it is awesome!! Just the right service you would expect, yet no intrusion of privacy, like you mentionned. No wonder celebrities are choosing Sandals as their number 1 resort for quality time and privacy. Thanks Gina. And lucky you for meeting with Daniel Alfredson ;)

Tracey, WPIC Inc.'s Gravatar I totally loved having a butler!
At first I felt a bit emabarrassed to call them and ask them to get me something. (Yes, you even get a personal phone to get or receive calls from them, LOL!) Suddenly it all of a sudden, becomes eay and you begin to feel like a superstar :) They both were attentive, funny and non-intrusive.
They will pack/unpack your clothes for you at arrival and check out (I should have taken advantage of this...) They will iron your clothing, bring you crackers and cheese, chocolate covered strawberries, just because. My favourite thing from the Butler experience was my bubble bath waiting for me when I arried back to my suite on the last evening, ahhh! It was surrounded with scented candles, and had rose petals everywhere, what a treat!

John Wood's Gravatar Hi Gina! Can't wait to get there, I haven't been this excited sinceI was 10.
Only 3 more sleeps. I will have finally seen all of the Beaches properties. Only Whitehouse left for Sandals.
Then I can start over!

Gina's Gravatar John,
I am excited for you as the grand opening of the Italian Village is a major event! Please take a lot of pictures for me as I will not be able to attend due to a function that I had booked.
Tracey,
I am so glad you did have the opportunity to experience "our butler service". Did you find it difficult to get back to regular life? I always hate leaving my butler behind.
Caroline,
We will have to make sure you come back to our resorts just to experience this service...It is true pampering.

Tia Ward's Gravatar Initially I was thinking that I might have a hard time selling the butler service, based on the cost factor especially this year but now I'm thinking that it might be easier that I thought. Using the celebrity angle is definitely the way to go. In our day & age everyone wants to be a celebrity; and at Sandals or Beaches they can be. Love it!
# Posted By Tia Ward | 5/10/09 11:29 PM
Gina's Gravatar Hi Tia,
That is it exactly. Everyone wants to feel special and status is also important so this angle is a great way to sell up to the Butler Suites. See you on Saturday!

Jag's Gravatar Congratulations Jill!!

I personally have not had the opportunity to have the butler service. But I did recently get a sneak peek of what is included from a dear friend ;) ~ Lorraine!!!

With all the WeddingMoon and Honeymoon inquiries I've been getting lately, I'm sure this service will be a lot easier to sell than I originally thought.

And I can't wait to experience my own butler service one day soon !!

Karen's Gravatar Gina,
I have never stayed in a butler suite but I do try to up sell all of my Sandals clients to these suites as I know my clients will love it and I make more money by doing this. Everyone who does experience the butler service raves about it. I really like that we can let the butlers know what the clients like before they get there so it just makes it more personal.
I really enjoy your blogs, I find them really interesting and informative.

Deborah Jensen's Gravatar The butler service is excellent! On my last Sandals trip I was lucky enough to have one @ Sandals Grande Ochie. It really was unique and totally made the trip a different level of luxury for us! Now having the experience of a butler I can more easily talk about how great it really is to try out the butler service and experience a different type of luxury!
The butlers really do make you feel special. Total celebrity feel!
All I need to do now is fine tune my sales pitch on the butler service rooms and really sell, sell, sell! (The celebrity angle will really help!)

Thanks for the topic!
Congratulations Jill!

Jan Umbach's Gravatar Hi Gina - just read through your blog - great information andc the next best thing to being on a beach at a Sandals or Beaches property myself! The booking window may be shorter these days - but the marketing and sales window can still be lengthy as clients evaluate to ensure they get the best value - such as at Sandals. I love the early notification that you have posted for the dates for the Best Friends Forever Girls Getaway at Beaches Turks & Caicos - and I know that Girlfriends would take full advantage of every service that the Butler Service has to offer! Mmmm - sounds like my next marketing campaign! Thanks, Jan

Heather's Gravatar Hi Gina ... enjoying reading your blog! I have some clients I'm trying to sell Sandals too (for a honeymoon) but they mentioned Turks would be a dream location ... whaddya think ... should I suggest a Sandals or do you think they'd be fine there at a Beaches (it would be in July).

Gina's Gravatar Hi Heather,
If Turks is their dream vacation I know that they will love Beaches Turks anc Caicos. This is a great choice for honeymooners as this resort caters to everyone. The Beaches brand is great for families but there are adult only restaurants and I don't find that the kids get in the way at all. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Happy Selling!!!

Debbie's Gravatar Hi Gina,

I recently had the pleasure of utilizing my Sell and go points and stayed at Sandals, Montego Bay 3-7 May. I was totally impressed - and it takes a lot to impress me. With my 25+ years in the travel industry, including being in hotel sales & marketing, I have to tell you, Sandals by far knocked my socks off!

The resort grounds are kept to beautiful and clean, you can tell the staff really take pride in their hotel. The service was outstanding and the food was fabulous! I met with the GM of the hotel to express my absolute gratitude and pleasure for being able to experience a Sandals resort for the very first time in my long career!

Deborah Bellocchi's Gravatar Hey Gina! Wow that must have been amazing to meet Daniel! I have sold the Butler service before for honeymoon couple. I find it easy to get my clients to move up to Concierge category but it’s hard sometimes getting them to go the extra and upgrade to Butler Service. Even though I go through all the benefits. I have been lucky enough to experience Concierge service but I hope that next time I can try Butler Service. I find once you have experienced it yourself it is much easier to explain the difference to your clients.

Cindy Johnson's Gravatar I used to think that Butler service would be good for honeymoon's only. Boy was I wrong. Having Butler service while vacationing with children is in my opinion the best option for both parents and children. It lends a hand to the parents, keeping them stress-free, and able to spend more time with their children... Kind of how a "vacation" should be.

Julie Bond's Gravatar Sadly (I'm hanging my head in shame) I'm a Leafs fan! Iknow, I know. Congrats on meeting that Senators guy:) anyway. The celebrity angle is a great angle to sell the butler service, good call. Expecially for honeymooners. Their already a little star-struck from their wedding, why not carry on the princess treatment. I'm laying the groundwork now to renew my vows in T&C. Fingers crossed!!

GIna's Gravatar Hi Julie,
It is ok that you are a leafs fan, maybe next year both or our teams will do better :)
Turks and Caicos is so beautiful and it is the perfect place to renew your vows. Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can help you out in any way.

Linda's Gravatar First I have to say that this resort looks incredable! I have yet to experience butler service but I am going to try this celeb angle. I usually sell concierge but my main goal is to make my clients happy and to make money so the higher category I sell the more money I make and my customers will be pampered.
By the way...I am a leafs fan as well but I won't hold that your a sens fan against you. lol

Karen's Gravatar Hey Gina,
Congrats on meeting Alferdson...that must have been pretty exciting! Just wanted to let you know, I had some clients (family of 5) that stayed at Beaches T&C, in a butler suite back in February...even though the water park wasn't quite finished, they had an amazing time. I was on my "welcome home" call with her for over an hour! She couldn't say enough about the Beaches T&C. She said everything was perfect...she especially loved the butler service, because at home SHE is the butler for her family! Initially she wasn’t “calling” on the butler as it was quite different then she was use to, but she said he made the family feel very comfortable and after the first day, he was doing all kinds of stuff for them. He offered a picnic on the beach, which the kids were really excited about and she thought it was extra special as SHE didn’t have to prepare everything for it! They had a reserved spot on the beach and all they could eat and drink! In her words “absolutely everything was taken care of and I didn’t have to do a thing!”. They loved it! She has already booked their family vacation for 2010…..with a butler again! Thanks to Beaches/Sandals for making our jobs a little easier!

Jenn's Gravatar Having a butler is really the ultimate in luxury! I was fortunate enough to have enjoyed the lovely Calicia and Nicola while at the Grande Ocho Rios and these ladies really did take care of my every need, one night I mentioned to Calicia that my feet were sore from allour walking, and she brought me a pair of slippers and put them on my feet!!! Talk about making you feel like Cinderella! For honeymooners this truly is the ultimate experience, I have reccomended the butler service to everyone who inquires about Sandals and Beaches packages. No better way to feel like a star!

Leanne's Gravatar I'm going to use this to help me upsell to butler service.
