Review - Sandals Royal Bahamian
Hello Canada,
A few weeks back I received an e-mail from Tracey Andrews Manailescu, Vice President of WPIC (Wedding Planners Institute of Canada). Tracey has returned from a wonderful and well deserved vacation at Sandals Royal Bahamian and below are her comments of the resort.
Here is what Tracey had to say:
“My husband and I have just returned from our vacation at the beautiful Royal Bahamian.
(We were celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary.) I was there in December for the STAR Awards on business, and as soon as I stepped foot on the property, I knew that I wanted to bring my husband here to spend our anniversary.
The property is perfect for romance! There are tons of nooks and crannies for privacy and photo ops (and trust me, I love pictures.).
Our door was thoughtfully decorated with Happy Anniversary balloons :)
I absolutely loved the fire pits overlooking the ocean. It felt so peaceful and calming.
The property is spotless and so lush with vegetation.
The resort has a very classy feel to it. The staff are very in tune to privacy, and at first I thought was a bit "stand-offish", but than as soon as you talked to them, they were just waiting for the chance to get to know you better.
Very warm and charasmatic.
I have so many people that stood out to us that I want to mention...
Firstly, Gina Tsirmpas who just made me fall in love with Sandals in the first place (and Adam Stewart, of course, LOL!). Your passion, warmth and love of Sandals is beautiful!
I appreciate all of the special touches you did to make our anniversary even more special. Thank you!
Cheddi Brown, who is the new Sales Manager. What charisma, you have, girl!
Thanks so much for the personal welcome and arranging our first dinner for us, along with the personal welcome letter and cheese platter, waiting in our room at arrival.
Stefan Mintchev (Food and Beverage Manager) who took such good care of us from day one. The attention to detail and personal phone calls to arrange our week was so amazing! We will keep in touch!
Mark, our Waitor from "The Baccarat". You have the best smile and sweetest personality. It was a pleasure meeting you.
Ken Flockhart, Hotel Manager, who was always readily seen around the resort every day talking to guests.
Cecealya, Wedding Butler who we met on the private island at Cafe Goombay ( I apologize if I spelled it wrong) you are a doll! I loved talking with you.
Last but not least, I want to mention Jean at the Front Gate.
What a pleasure it was, seeing your friendly smile and welcome every time we went off property and back into the resort. You are a beautiful person!
The rooms were luxurious, the view was exceptional (we were overlooking the ocean and the pool.) My husband took picture after picture, of the sunset and the grounds from our suite. We had top shelf wine and liquor in the room that spoiled us.
The Cricketers Pub has the best Reuben sandwiches, ever!
(I think I had 3 of them...)
We went snorkelling, of course included. What a treat that was.
Fun boat ride out, and what beauty underneath.
We hopped in a taxi the second day, and realized how very safe we felt on the island.
For the remainder of the trip we took the local bus everywhere. The strawmarket, Paradise Island, for luch downtown another day.
At night time we even walked back and forth to the Casino, without a worry!
My husband and I truly needed this time to relax and just be together.
You really have no idea what this trip meant to us on a personal level, and I am so happy we chose Sandals.
We have already booked our family vacation at Beaches Turks & Caicos in October :)”

I'm bringing a group there in October on a Bahamas FAM and can't wait to show them the property, I know they will fall in love with it like I (and Tracey) did.
Plus, I can't wait to see Cheddi again now that she has moved from the Sandals in Jamaica :)
off shore Island is to die for. Can't wait to go back.
The staff is amazing at Royal Bahamian. I visited in July and was amazed at how wonderful everyone was. Every Sandals/Beaches is like that, the staff is just great!
Cheddi really is fantastic. She's done great things in her career and I know she'll do wonders in the Bahamas too!
After experiencing the resort myself it's an easy sell. Once clients see agents get super excited about the resorts and the butlers and all the extras, they too can get excited! Which always makes an easy sell, not to mention the extra savings right now!
I can't wait to go back to the Bahamas and enjoy some excellent Sandals service..maybe try the Exuma next time!! Or the new property!
Thanks,
Deborah Jensen
