SANDALS RESORTS ANNOUNCES ‘POPULAR VOTE’ FINALIST FOR ‘GREATEST LOVE STORY’ VIDEO CONTEST

Phil and Elizabeth of Mississauga, Ontario are winners of the Popular Vote in the Greatest Love Story Contest

Sandals Resorts has announced the ‘Popular Vote’ finalist in the company’s Greatest Love Story Video Contest, a worldwide search to find the most romantic, inspirational and unique tale of love.  The lucky couple is Phil and Elizabeth of  Mississauga, Ontario. 

“We are both incredibly honored to have been selected as the Popular Vote finalist in the Sandals Greatest Love Story Contest!” said Phil. “We found out that we had been selected during the weekend of our two year anniversary, and it was the best anniversary gift we could have imagined.”

Phil and Elizabeth met at the University of Western Ontario, while Phil was in his second year, and Elizabeth was in her first. Elizabeth is currently finishing her undergraduate degree this year, so the two have not been able to spend as much time together as they would like, as Phil lives two hours away. On September 20, the couple celebrated their two-year anniversary of dating --the same day they learned they had been chosen as the ‘Popular Vote’ finalist.

The ‘Popular Vote’ finalist was selected by the public through online voting.  Phil and Elizabeth, along with six other finalists, will be eligible for either the contest’s grand prize or runners-up prize.  Runners-up receive a four-day / three-night Luxury Included® vacation land package for two to any Sandals Resort, located in Jamaica, Saint Lucia, Antigua, and The Bahamas. The couple whose story is considered by Sandals Resorts to be the most compelling will be swept away for an eight-day / seven-night Luxury Included® vacation to Sandals Montego Bay in Jamaica, the company’s very first resort. The Sandals Greatest Love Story Video Contest coincides with the 30th anniversary of Sandals Resorts, strengthening the company’s status as the authority on romantic getaways and will culminate with an announcement of the grand prize and six runner-up winners on October 15, 2011.
